A Justice of the Peace (JP) service is provided at MECA on Mondays (10am - 4pm), Tuesdays (10am - 4pm) and Thursdays (10am - 2pm). Although walk-ins are always welcomed, appointments are prioritised. If you do not have an appointment, please expect a waiting period..
Who are JPs?
JPs are appointed by the Governor of New South Wales for five-year terms. They are volunteers, who come from all walks of life and all sections of the community.
JPs are people who are trusted to be honest, careful and impartial, when performing the functions of a JP.

On February 26 2015, Photographer Pete Hawk and a team of dedicated workers from the Mount Druitt Ethnic Communities Agency (MECA) and the Street University set up a makeshift studio at Dawson Mall, in the western Sydney suburb of Mount Druitt.
They asked passers by to stand in for a portrait and posed the question - "Where do you live and how do you see yourself in the community?"
