Tell us about yourself

I have always had an interest in people and a strong desire to help those less fortunate than I. That desire is what led me to pursuing a degree in Psychology after completing my High School Certificate, to now looking at completing a Masters degree in Social Work. I love to laugh and have a good time with my family and friends. I am one who cannot turn down a good opportunity to travel or engage in new experiences and I believe life is a gift, it should be lived to the fullest, while only focusing on the positive 🙂

What do you want to do once you have completed your studies?

After completing my studies, I would like to enter into a career where I can positively contribute to the community. Something that will provide me with the satisfaction of knowing each day I wake up, I have the opportunity to help change someone’s life for the better.

What do you want to achieve while you are on placement?

While on placement, I would like to be able to see the theoretical knowledge I have gained through study applied in a real-life sense. Here at MECA, I have the opportunity to do just that while also further developing other skills. I am also hoping to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself and my abilities.

Why did you choose MECA as your placement sponsor?

I chose MECA as my placement sponsor because being here offers me the opportunity to work and interact with people that I would not normally have the opportunity to come in contact with if I was in another organisation/ workplace. Each day, I get to see different faces coming through the doors and there are different challenges and situations to overcome.

How will your work on placement contribute to making Mount Druitt a better place?

My work on placement will hopefully contribute to making Mt Druitt a better place by providing help and information to enable the people in the community to better access services that can be of benefit to them.
